Photo Guidelines
For products that begin with your photo.
This guide applies only to products that ask you to upload an image. You do not need a professional camera - a good phone photo is usually enough. The clearer your starting image, the better we can adapt it for the final product.
Choose a photo that has
- A clear, sharp subject with important facial features easy to see.
- Good lighting, preferably without harsh shadows or strong backlighting.
- The full face visible, including important features such as ears, eyes and hair.
- Enough space around the subject for comfortable cropping.
- The highest-resolution original file you have available.
- Minimal heavy filters, stickers or text over the subject.
Try to avoid
- Blurry, heavily pixelated or very dark images.
- Photos where part of the face, ears or head is cut off.
- Subjects photographed from very far away.
- Screenshots when the original image is available.
- Strong beauty or colour filters that substantially change the subject.
- Other people or objects covering important parts of the subject.
Tips by photo & product
For pet photos
- Make sure the eyes, nose, ears and distinctive markings are visible.
- For dark-coated pets, choose a brighter image that still shows fur detail.
- For light-coated pets, avoid overexposure where the coat loses definition.
- If a collar, accessory or marking matters to you, make sure it is clearly visible.
For babies and people
- Use a naturally lit image where the face is in focus.
- Avoid photos with strong filters that change skin tone or facial features.
- For more than one person, make sure each subject is reasonably clear and not hidden behind another.
For embroidery
Embroidery uses thread rather than pixels. Very fine textures, tiny details and subtle colour transitions may be simplified. Photos with clear features and good contrast generally translate best.
For canvas, frames and printed products
Large prints need more image detail than small products. Upload the highest-quality version you have, especially for larger sizes, as an image that looks sharp on a phone can appear soft when enlarged.
Quick photo check
| Check | Ask yourself |
|---|---|
| Clear | Can I easily see the main face/features? |
| Well lit | Are important details visible? |
| Sharp | Does the subject remain clear when I zoom in? |
| Original | Am I using the best-quality file available? |
Not every product needs a photo. Photo Guidelines apply only where an upload field appears on the product page. Future pet and baby products may use different sizing, material or personalization instructions instead.
